Front right motor mounts CB 750 76 and 77
« on: May 21, 2021, 12:13:47 PM »
I notice there seems to be a change in the mounts, that are drlled through frame and welded in.
The earlier bikes had a flange head bushing welded in , head is aroud 15mm for a 8mm hole.
On a 78 i checked it eeemed much smaller like maybe just 12mm straight tubing.
If you have a 76 or 77 frame without mount on coukd you please check and report. Trying to determine  when change happened. . THANKS

Thats exactly what i wanted to confirm.
Looks like the change was in 77 ?  Weird , cuz they actually went heavier on a few things..
Another weird thing.... is i was not really aware of this till now and  i had a 77 in the 80,s..
So the late one looks like 14mm od drilled for 8mm bolts.
And the late is..... will add later...looks  around 25 ish..

And the ‘77 had the fabricated bracket on the left side!

Several theories that make little or no sense. One of life’s “great mysteries “.

Photo from my mid 1975 frame, stamped with K2 number for Europe. Still not washed after rain attacked me on the last 10 minutes of last ride. :(

My K6 look the same as well as an early 1975 frame I have, also EU K2. These 2 have better looking welds. The 4-2-1 no 4 pipe blocked the view for my camera.

There is a world of difference between the 77-78 frames and earlier frames.

There are quite a few differences. Most I have known about for quite some time. This one caught me by surprise..
