I am trying to repurpose a cdi from an old gs500 on my 08 boulevard that blew the motor (fuel injected )
but wait there's more and it gets much better believe me.. lol
so I had an 04 intruder just sitting around { carburated) with the same 805 block ,
well what happened was it looked the same but quickly became apparent that it was going to require a little bitty bit
of modification or the entire thing needed modified on every level possib le to fit... it was one or the other I forget...
so after custom fitting just about every single thing you could possibly imagine.... and not having spark no matter what I tested or changed I realized I would likely have to change the igniter (cdi unit) it has been a hell of a motor swap that started out in a very positive attitude of this shouldn't take 5 or 6 hrs to 6 weeks later this is the last well almost last thing I neet to figure out and the last 3 weeks have been dedicated to getting fire ... so any help I could nget would be appreciated.. I thought of rewiring chopper style but have never been really particularly good at the ins and outs nof the system breakdown.. however I am quite handy and fully understand it for the most part.. what I would really like to do is leave the wiring as stock as possible Incase I stumble across a stock motor... but I cant find the pin out from either cdi the 2004 intruder or the 2003 gs500 cdi I have and there are several wires that I have no idea where they would go and I'm not positive e about the others... hoping someone could give me some insite... please and thank you
