Thanks for the reminder!  40% off Castrol, so I just nipped down to my local Supercheap & picked up 4 litres for $71.99.

God that sh1t is expensive, how long does 4 litres last? Anyway, this will make Per happy, today I received one long awaited T350 item, the tyre pump!

T350 pump by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

My T250 had the OEM pump on it when I got it, along with the tool kit etc, but of course this poor old bike was just a pile of rust when I bought it, with nothing nice like a pump or a tool kit, so I've since bought both, which I think are repro's, because most Suzuki tools have the "S" mark on them, but these do have "Made in Japan" cast into them, (not the pump, obviously) so who knows? Anyway, it's a handy thing to have for a bike with skinny tyres, although I hope I don't need to be doing tyre repairs on the side of the road. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Did you run the bike today Terry ?
The Autolube tank oil will last many miles:twice as long as the premix Terry. The rings won't carbon-up and you can go a long time before decarbonizing the top-end on your Suzuki with the high quality synthetic 2-stroke oil.
The oil is expensive, although less expensive than doing a rebuild.

Terry,what jets are you running,stock?

that pump is great!!those were the days when guys actually did road side repairs, you cant go wrong with any castrol 2 stroke oils,we used to use castrol super tt in the days in our ITs and DTs,its called something else now and i use it in my 2 stroke garden tools, ive never been keen on synthectics that say you can run em real lean, also on new sthil or most garden tools they say 50:1,thats only a bull#$%* EPA thing for less smog, run 32:1,my tools dont smoke once hot and churning hard.

4 litres of  2t oil would last me a couple of months when I was riding both of my RD350LC's  three or four days a week .
The cheaper mineral castrol 2t oil that i use is $30 , down from $50. I'll get one tomorrow.

I think I'll be getting some of that $30 oil Ken, and then I might start using the ATF, I've got 20 litres of that stuff that I don't need........ ;D

If I give my H1A the berries, it disappears at an alarmingly fast rate!  I don't ride the bike an awful lot, so it lasts quite a while (I bought the last container 3 years ago, and there is still 1 litre left, plus 1/2 a tank on the bike).

About 10 years ago my local petrol station found a box of really old 2 stroke mineral oil in the back of a storage area.  They put it on the shelves at 1/3 normal price.  I bought every bottle they had.  A search of the internet predicted the imminent demise of my motor.  I was riding the bike a fair bit then, and money was tight, so I decided, what the hell.  Bike didn't miss a beat...

I know I should be heading over to the pissed off thread, but as it pertains to my T350, I'll post it here. As you all know, RB550Four was nice enough to rat an old T250 he had for some parts I need, and very generously sold them to me for $50 USD. Shipping to MyUS.com at Sarasota Florida was another $25. I just received notice that they were ready to send, but there was a value of $239.99 against it, meaning that I have to pay tax for $239.99, not $50.00. WTF?

I tried to change it, but the MyUS.com system came up with a message saying that "This amount is less than similar items are are valued at", and I now have to provide an invoice? What the double fcuk?? I've sent them an email saying that they're used parts that I bought from a fellow member of these forums, and can provide screen shots of the PM's between us, and the Paypal payment of $75.00, but I'm trying to understand where they got the $239.99 figure from? (apart from out of their own arses, I doubt that they've suddenly become Suzuki T350 experts)

What a bunch of d1cks, seriously their service is crap, they've broken or lost at least half of the items they've sent me, and now they're making up prices? Thank God there's nothing I need in a hurry, because I may have to pay them to send the box back to RB, then pay him to send it to them again, with an invoice for $50.00. I should have just bent over and paid the tax on $239.99 USD. Never again.......  ::)

Nice with the pump. I heard that from a guy that has a T500 Cobra. He was happy to find a NOS on eBay which he showed me.

The Suzuki Ram Airb look nice. I found old adds where they have been for sale for not that much. Max 1500  Euro 1-2 years ago.

I have no room in my garage.  But I have a friend with a barn where my K6 was stored for 15 years ... ;D

Having visited that place I can believe anything.  The entrance intercom doesn't work and even though security can see you on camera they don't respond.  I tagged in behind a worker and armed security came running out wanting to know why I jumped the gate.

Thanks John, well they’ve asked me for screen dumps of the PM’s from RB to me, and the Paypal payment so I’ll send them that info and see if that’ll get my box released.

Per, if you can pick up a minty T250-500 for 1500 Euros grab it, it’s not just Sandcasts and Z1’s that are rocketing in value, all old bikes are going thru the roof. As I said previously I had no issue getting $10K AUD (around $8K USD) agreed value insurance for my little green monster, so if you can pick one up for even half that much buy it, it’s better than money in the bank. ;D

I got so excited thinking about 2 strokes I decided it’s time to start putting my 1969 Yamaha DS6 together. I searched Ebay for a set of carbs, exhaust pipes and gauges (all missing on my bike) and found nothing so bought a pair of new Mikuni VM26 carbs, and I might take a risk and buy a set of DS7 pipes and gauges in the hope that nothing much changed between models.

It looks like the pipes are slightly different and the gauges have chrome bodies as opposed to black for my model year, but I can live with that as otherwise the bike is pretty much complete right down to the original paint, seat, etc. I’m looking forward to another (hopefully) quick build! ;D

Thanks Bill, my anxiety just got the better of me and I bought the DS7 exhaust pipes, so all I (think I) need now is the gauges. All the original cables were  in the box, but I might pop for new repros after I take a look in the box tomorrow. I'm sitting on a train watching the world go by as I type this into my little laptop computer, on my way to my Ma's place to pick up the Subaru that I gave her 6 years ago.

My car was written off last week by that young d1ckhead so I needed a car and was thinking about buying a ute, but she's decided that at almost 93 she doesn't want to drive anymore, so the old Subaru is coming home as my daily driver. That suits me, I can invest the insurance payout in motorcycle parts instead! ;D

Yeah mate, most families have got their problems, and mine is no different, I had a very rocky relationship with my dad right up until when he got old, and pretty much all of us suffer from one mental illness or another, but Ma has been the rock and has always had that "Glass half full" mentality, so she's easy to get along with. When I was a kid though, I would have been happy to have been adopted. No biggie, we're all the architects of our success or failure, and the only way to measure your success is whether you're happy or not. Motorcycles and pets make me happy. ;D

Thanks Simon, they look the same(ish) but I have absolutely no knowledge of the pre-RD Yamaha's, so I appreciate your advice. The pipes will probably owe me $500 AUD by the time they arrive here and they're certainly not mint, but I suspect that the frame's basic architecture didn't change much and if the headers need a little tweaking, that's easy enough.

Dion has a set of Expansion chambers for a 1970's 2 stroke road bike that he's giving me, so if the worst becomes the worst I'll chop the headers off and graft them onto the expansion chambers. ;D

Terry, I know a guy who specializes in older Yamaha 2 strokes.  Based on some of our conversations if you find any parts that will work on your DS6 you should get them.  He has told me several times that anything for the older 250-350 street scramblers is nearly impossible to find.
