Topic: 550 Clutch cover removal tips?

Starting the clutch on my 78 550, got all the bolts out and the kickstart pedal. Any tips for removing the cover from the gasket and off the bike? Bike is complete doing this as maintenance.

Thump it carefully with a rubber mallet

You could also warm just the cover with a hair dryer.

I got it, torch, rubber mallet and screwdriver

-operate the clutch release lever to push the cover outwards
-no screwdriver or only as a last resort - a plastic or wooden wedge would be much kinder
-I find acetone and a scouring pad good to clean up after carefully scraping most of the old gasket off
