Probably a bit late now, but I recently bought a front sprocket for my Kaw from a company called Niche based on advice I was given. Evidently, it's a top brand among racers.
I bought a bike once with a plastic rear sprocket. It had been on there a while, not sure on the miles though. It was quiet when rotating the rear wheel. I'd bet today's plastics would be even better.
