I picked this motorcycle up a number of years ago from the original owner. He had several of them and this was the last to go. He was in his early 80s. I have made very few changes to the bike, mainly just got it running and tended to a few needy cosmetics. It had been sitting for over 10 years. You see the black, the silver and the candy glory red ones all the time. Original gets the big bucks.
But I am of the opinion that the period mods like those that were done to this one are as deserving of preservation and restoration as a full blown OEM. The Russ Collins pipes alone are worth the price of admission! The mufflers were still in the box and had never been fired! The headers had to be re-chromed. I will let the next guy worry about originality. I’m enjoying it like it is…
