Starter Motor Worn Out

The starter on my 750K5 is worn out.  The drive end bushing is shot ant it's causing the armature to rub against the steel part of the field coils. Does anyone know where I can get bushings for this starter?

Its only brass or iolite, some body with a modelling lathe could turn you one or modify a standard one

It is an oilite bushing, sintered bronze that is porous to hold and wick oil to the surface. I replaced it with one from a starter that wasn’t worn out, I think the starter came off a Yamaha.  The starter didn’t fit the Honda, but was made by same source, and used the same bushing.

Thanks for all the advice.  I tried to find a bushing that would fit, but no luck so far.  None of the Yamaha bushings listed the size, so it's hard to know which one will work.  The original bushing looks to be 13.5mm ID (shaft diameter) x 18mm OD.  I found some oilite bushings that are 12mm ID x 18mm OD but it would cost too much to have a machine shop drill one out. I could do it myself, but my drill press is a POS and I don't have a 17/32 bit (13.5mm = 17/32 inches as it turns out).  I'll probably do what PeWe said and buy a used starter.  It would've been more satisfying to fix the old one, but $ wins.

We have a local guy who rebuilds all starters. You may check your area for someone who rebuild starters and they may be able to help. We had a K2 starter and a Z1 starter rebuilt by our guy and he did a great job for $45. They are a dying breed but you never know what those shops can do for you.

A buddy sent some info for a couple of places that rebuild starters.  I'll go that route if the one I bought on Ebay is worn out too.
