i can't remember a year or 2 if i did. they look so easy to take off. i have no idea how many times i've changed them in the last 40yrs. a few times at least. can't i just take the caliper bolts out and the line off? thanks.

On my K3 750 I can just remove the caliper.

Just take the bolts out and let the line be, it's as easy as you think.

To just replace the pads, split the caliper and swap them in. With really worn pads be careful the master reservoir doesn't overflow when the piston is pushed back in.
I like to pop out and inspect the piston when I'm in there. Usually with the brake hose still attached.

Be very careful the new pucks fit smoothly in the bores, one of mine had a little hangup that froze it. I had to remove the caliper and dress it to get it to stop sticking.
