I love that stop-tail-turn signal LED array, and I would like to put something like it on my bike.  But, don't you have inspections in your area?  What about police harassment?

no inspection needed unless you are registering a bike that is off the record.
Taillight laws are pretty vague in the Republik of Kalifornia (amazingly). As far as i know it just has to be clear and visible. Which it is in daylight, but even more-so at night.
I'm waiting to get pulled over for the exhaust... Generally cops leave bikes alone out here (hell they let straight-piped harleys go through... why not a straight-piped CB? >:D ), but this is pretty damn loud...

MrFry! Very original! I also like the tailight and indicators - video is like Darth Vader meets Battlestar Galactica! Keep it coming! Cant wait to see that seat replaced  ;) I also liked the "trip" shots - beach looks good. Very much appreciated.

cheers
Andy

Thanks Andy. The beach is like this year round here (almost). It's typically one of my stops when i go for a ride. It's nice to just stop and relax, and maybe listen to seals or bring home some sushi grade fish.

Unfortunately money is what is holding up the seat... I need to figure out how i'm going to repaint the tank (which may end up having to paint the seat as well), then upholster it.
it's going to be a pretty simple design - just your typical cafe seat style.

reviving an old thread....

due to the crap paint i used last time, the tank has been stripped and handed off to a professional painter

we are coming up with several ideas to paint it (most likely going to be polished w/ painted panels).

because the tank will look so good now, i think i'm going to tear down the rest of the bike, powdercoat the frame and other bits, clean and polish the engine, etc.

just figured i'd give you guys an update

i apologize for not getting to everyone's PMs; i have been SUPER busy with a new job and whatnot lately.

also... does anyone have a trick to get these bikes on the center stand on a slick garage floor?!

Even the smallest person can do it.

Stand on the left side of the bike facing towards the front of the bike.
put your right hand UNDER the grab bar and your right foot on the center stand push down bar.
Put your left hand on the left handle bar grip.
Now stand on the push down bar on the center stand and pull up on the grab bar AT THE SAME TIME.

See what I mean?

old thread indeed!

thanks Lucky, better late than never i suppose. ;D

Just a random update while i'm at it... I still have the bike but am looking to sell it.

I tore it down expecting to rewire and paint it, but only got as far as removing the wiring. Engine is still in the frame, and should start right up with a bit of oil and gas (drained both before i tore it down). I don't have the Tank or Seat at the moment but i might be able to get them back, and i have most of the stock parts.

If anyone is interested, shoot me an email: TFry@FryMoto.com

i don't have a set price - really just looking to clear some space in the garage.
