As a Honda owner, I think you will find that single disc adequate for sedate riding.   The Kawi caliper is MUCH more powerful than a cb750

Good job on the switches Steve, I restored some CB750 switches years ago, I painted them with engine enamel, then used waterbased model paint. I just slopped the paint in with a little artists brush, and then just wiped off the excess with a wet rag. The water based paint, when dry is just as water proof as enamel, but won't react with the engine enamel when wet, so no smearing issues, and won't affect the gloss of the black paint when you wipe the wet rag over it. ;D

Yes, I saw that, it's pretty controversial since some folks are making it bad for everyone. Here on Maui there is a growing sense that tourism needs some controls and is out of hand. Just last week I saw a guy in a camper van dumping his porta potty tanks by the side of the road. Gross. Short term rental properties are also a sore subject since they deprive working people rental property. It's a pretty hot subject.
The good news is our Covid numbers are way down so they are thinking of loosening up. I hope folks don't go crazy and make the numbers climb.
My Z1 project has been on hold while my tires and tubes are being sent. When it all gets here I'll see if I can get a rolling frame up so I can put the engine lower half back in. Then it's going to start taking shape. In the mean time, I have some honey do's.
I'm also working on the brake components since I decided to not go dual discs, at least for now.

I received my Duro tires. They look almost exactly like the Continentals that I put on my K3 750. Oh well, they should get me by for a start. They may be fine for what I’ll be doing. I don’t ride like a 20 year old any more. :-))

Kailua-Kona is where they have the finish of the Ironman Triathlon? I was there in 1986 and saw some of the tired 'Finishers' coming in.

Yep it's the Ironman triathlon finish. The turn around buoy for the swim leg is straight out from the condo. I've sat out on the deck eating breakfast and watching the swimmers. I think it was in 94'.

Still waiting for some stuff so I can go to the next step. I need tubes to mount tires so I can stand the frame up. The chrome is not back yet from SoCal, I hope it's good chrome, should be for the price. My gauges are on their way back from Marcel, another bank breaker. After the frame is on wheels, the lower half of the lump goes in.
A real slow down period. It's ok though, I had some honeydo's to take care of.

I have become very attached to my siphon gun bead blaster setup, I should have gotten one a long time ago. Yesterday I messed around with some walnut shells to restore a plant stand for my wife. They aren't very aggressive but they work, I just set up near a planting area and blasted away. Biodegradable! The stand only had light rust, came out fine.

Any blasting, especially sand if using a siphon blaster needs to Flow freely and moisture in the media is a kiss of death,...so, keep your abrasive sand media dry.

Let us know how the gauges look when they come back. All the gauges I have had done were by Zresto https://www.zresto.com.m My CB550 gauges were done by Marcel and were excellent.

Hey Crazy1...that looks like a good resource.  I used Marcel for my K1 gauges, shipping was expensive!
For my H1 & H2, a Triples forum member in FL did mine and did a great job [w/cheap shipping]

They look great. I had Marcel restore a set of K0 gauges for me, compared to NOS gauges, they were cheap. ;D

That's it, NOS gauges for an early Z1 are pretty tough to find.
Marcel really does a great job, they look perfect, he told me the internals were pretty bad.

Yes the gauges look good. I think he will get my 75 Z1 gages. He must be catching up. My CB550 gauges took 5 months.
