no title bikes
« on: July 07, 2021, 01:01:25 PM »
I'm sure I have a hoarder gene but have a hard time scrapping a good frame. I now have a severely neglected F2 and 76A to finish parting into the totes and shelves..
I got an already cut in half K2 a couple years ago and made repair parts out of it, I cut a wrecked F0 up to make repair parts for a K0 hacked frame before that but kept the rear disc setup, they were easier although not without some mental distress.
I'm not a fan of shipping, no truck or bus nearby, only ups. Selling is a pain, low ballers almost want you to pay them to take your stuff.
I had a plan to build a drag bike but already have a nice one with local history on a shelf. What's the point of building another?
Anyway I have no question or point, just thinking out loud. Someday my kids will have a good Honda guy's sale.

Scrap the junk and keep the good stuff. Find the right guy though and selling some of the better might be easy. Has to be more loons like us out there !

Don..... I cleared all the frames and wrecks from the barn a few years ago. Gave some stuff away too. A few years later and two of the bikes are actually back on the road and encouraged some younger guys to build their own. Actually worked out well.

In the last 12 months, I sold a beautiful ‘75 cb750F, my flake orange K4, and a few days ago the Chopper. Feel 10lbs. lighter and totally unconcerned about how much I might spend on the S/C. Try it, you might enjoy the feeling!

I belong now to a number of various other cycle forums (and have belonged to others before that).   Of course, on all of them there is some base number of true "enthusiasts" who are all in.

But it sure seems as though that ratio is higher here.  Not sure why, but just a casual observation (er...thinking out loud).

For the record, I have also gotten to the point that I'm beginning to wonder how much of a tangled mess I'll leave behind if I were to suddenly exit stage left.  There are bikes and bits strewn all over the shop.   Some bits not labeled.  Would make it tough to sort it.

But, I ain't "that" old yet, I'm just thinking about gettin' old.
