PD46A very slow carb leak #3
« on: July 15, 2021, 08:34:48 PM »
Just tested these carbs on the table for leaks since I’ve been chasing a elusive slow leak from #3. Switched float and needle to #4 and rechecked height. Now is POURING out like a squirt gun. I’ve had this happen before and it went away and now it’s back. Floats are set precisely at 14.5mm. Here’s a pic of my setup.

Edit: just chasing the slow leak now

Re: PD46A carbs SPRAYING fuel out of idle circuit
« Reply #1 on: July 15, 2021, 09:11:20 PM »
Ok I figured it out. Setting the carbs down like that blocked off the overflow the pressure differential forced the fuel out the idle circuit because air wasn’t able to leave the bowl. Bieber I’m still chasing this slow leak at #3. I think it maybe the bowl. But there are no visible cracks in the drain tube.

I tested for leaks again using a solvent instead of water and it did leak. So I am going to repair with solder.
