Identify this Fairing / Bug Catcher
« on: July 21, 2021, 04:25:38 PM »
Anyone recognize this fairing?  Probably modified one-off but thought to check with the masses.

Cheers, Joe

 A Bikini fairing?

Back in the day, there were many "quarter fairings". I don't recognize it exactly, but it may be one from National Cycle.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

I figured.   I was hoping someone would have a magic identifier of make and model :)  Of all the quarter fairings and bug catchers I've seen that one stands out at the top for being on a bike with stock tins, so I thought i'd take a chance and ask.

I used one of those on the 900F after I cut off the lower rearward pointing bits.

Dang!  That's a good idea!  I have one of the things on my GL1000 and have never really liked those bottom protrusions.  I believe I might have a go at trimming it back.  Hard to screw up ABS...I hope.

I put a few layers of blue tape on the fairing. Then I drew the lines as best I could. I used a jigsaw to cut it with a really fine blade. You need to cut it in short spurts and let go of the trigger. Too far, too fast and it melts back together.

Be careful with trimming.  Some were fiberglass, not ABS.

The Emgo was a copy of one that was fiberglass, a TPF4. Can't remember the maker.
