Hi. I don't understand why the idle starting gear is free to shift on its shaft but not desingaging nor from the fly wheel and from the starting motor ... Anything wrong? thanks

You have to pull the shaft out

 The start clutch is in the big gear if that's the question. The shaft often comes out with the sidecover, the gear is a little fiddly to get in and out but once past the gasked it's easy,

Well may be i didn t explained well myself. Question is not how to remove, but how it works because the flywheel is always connected to the starting engine shaft. I was expeting an engaging/disengaging mechanism Thanks

The engaging/disengaging mechanism is in the big gear.  I suggest you move the parts (rotate) with a wrench and your fingers, then you will discover how it works.  The big gear has the starter clutch in it.

Not strictly true, the mechanism is bolted to the back of the rotor and the big gear freewheels one way but locks the other
