Topic: Gas tank, side cover interchangability between CB-750 years?

My '71 CB-750 is missing the side cover over the oil tank, is it possible to use a side cover from a later year?  Will it fit?

Or better yet, if I can find a complete set of tank and covers from a later year, can I swap all three?

1971-1976 K models should interchange on the side covers. Tanks do also but the petcock is a single feed on the other side on 75 and 76 but can be made to work.

Frankenstuff has new repro side covers that are very nice...just have to get them painted...

Forgot to add that the badges on the side covers are different.71 and 72 have a script style 750 with the 71 being the only year with a red and not orange jewel,73-76 emblems are a bigger type of a badge.

73 to 76 emblems are bigger , but the cover the sunken relief part that still take the earlier script emblems..
 As far as i know.,
 I changed my CBO 73 cover to script style..

I'll agree with you on that Frank,same identations. Personally I like the look of the script best also if that was your aim.
