1977 CB750 header on a 1973 CB750k3
« on: July 27, 2021, 08:07:18 PM »
Hello guys and gals...
New here think this my 1st post....?
My tech question is looking at the 1977 and up headers. With theses I notice that there is no "exhaust" fin clamps I purchased a bike 5 years ago with all the boxes I got with it,,there is none lol...
Looking buy some but price just unreal. I was looking at going with later header which just has flanges.
I assume this can be done
Yes I did do a search on here did the keywords came up with nothing.
I'm Harley guy.....lol
I was just thinking out the box save little cash
.............input please
Thank u in advance

Both sorts have finned clamps but they work different , early clamp arround the pipe holding the pipe to a spigot held into head with 2 screws. Later pulls into head on 2 studs where screws go and  uses 2 split collets between finned bit and flange on end of pipe
I am told that as long as you have ALL the hardware both can be fitted to any head BUT the back end may not match up to mounting points

Some aftermarket headers use their own split collars and stockers won't fit so beware if buying used and it has none.
