Changing the firing order via the cam.
« on: July 29, 2021, 05:17:13 AM »
Working on a 77 750F for a friend. He wants a different sound. Has anyone used a reground cam to fire 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 at the same time?

I'm thinking I read someone cut and welded a cam just for a test.

It would need to be a billet cam unless a lot of welding was done. I'd check with the leading cam guys.

The cam I was speaking of was manufactured on a blank billet. Nobody has blank billets for the CB750 right now.....part of the COVID shut down which effected production.

The world wide supply chain is a thing of amazement. My friend that works at Holley said most aftermarket production is covered by excess production in the factories that make new cars and bikes. When the factories are behind on their main job, the extra work is difficult to get done.

somewhat related, im on holidays in Umbria, center of italy and we wanted to buy e-mtbs for our trip to this wild mountian range,
well, there were NONE to be found in any shop in italy, or whole of EU for that matter, physical shops or online... factories are just out of dozens of critical components that they cant source, havent supplied new bikes for a while now,
had to go second hand from a guy who rents and renews his fleet every year.... he had his new ones pre-ordered before this mess
