Hello to all you SOHC enthusiasts. I've  owned my sandcast for 24 years and today it goes on Ebay. Thought it might be useful to some to follow the auction. Already have the starting bid and an offer to buy it now informally. Honda sure got it right in 69.

I actually thought that some may want to see what the sandcasts are selling for since it seems to be quite variable in recent auctions. I joined this forum 23 years ago but didnt remain active. I'm  sure the bike will sell for an acceptable amount and I am not soliciting your involvement.. I think there must be some polite and friendly members in this forum and I welcome your comments. I'm  sure there are some who may find the Ebay auction interesting. Those of you who have commented negatively so far need to go back and read the forum rules. Are you always pissed off? I hope it gets better for you.

So where is the "useful" information? Are we supposed to search ebay auctions with a keyword of "sandcast" and sort through the bazillions of hits to find yours?

It's  the only sandcast for auction on Ebay USA. Bidding already at $19,200.00 after day one with almost 2000 views and 150 watching..Inquiries from Australia, UK, and Sweden.  2 buy it now offers. How about we all adopt a more cordial tone. Hopefully we can all learn something about the market value of these historically amazing bikes. I was riding a Norton when I was 17 in the very early 1970s. My friends had Kaw H1s and Cb750s and Suzuki water Buffalos. To me those were the days. Every ride was a joy and an adventure. Now I ride a Norton 961 , a Harley roadking, a z900rs, along with my little Cl160 1966, and my van van as a tag along for my motorhome. If you ask me what are the 2 most significant bikes of the late 60 early 70s era I say the Cb750 and the Z1.

Seems to me to be more about trolling from what I've  seen here. Remember. You meet the nicest people on a Honda. Still true?

John, take a step back and think about what your very first post looked and sounded like to a bunch of folks who have been talking about these bikes together for a very long time.  Many here are actually face to face friends in very real life. 

 Personally, I am much more interested in the mildly hacked with some cool period parts k2 for $900 for sale regularly here in Michigan.  Why? Because its cheap enough that it is still fun to fix it up myself and ride it.  To me, the high valuations are what is killing the hobby.  Soon there will be few of these bikes left in the country where they were sold new...this is not something I find "fun to watch".

I agree. 7 of the 10 bikes my buddy and I have were $500 bikes that were dead to the world. We've brought them back to rider status so we can ride them and share them with our friends. One of the most satisfying things that we do is put a new rider on a starter bike that we've gone through knowing that all they have to worry about is learning to ride. They don't have to worry about the bike for a while.
It's not always about the money.

For some of us it's about the bikes, not how much you can get for yours. 

For me it is definitely about the machines, but I am at least partly able to justify having a garage full of them to my wife by stating flatly,  "They're like money in the bank..."

It's amusing for me when people say they got cool NOS parts from the back of a honda dealer in the 90s. those must have been the days.

Guess im younger than some on here (48) been riding for over 34 years my 1st bike was a 1973 Kaw h2 got from my uncle for $150.00. For 14 year old boy riding a H2 was death trap lol.....but I was taught at young age to ride and respect the bike PERIOD. I guess i had that bike for little over 3 years. Then got a 1977 GS750 had for about 4 years Guess i 22-23 Got my 1st Harley 1976 Sporty rode that dabbed on it etc for many years sold it got into drag cars.
Short of this post is back in the day you pick cb750's kz900-1000, etc for little or nothing. In my area CB750 in general go for stupid prices I got deal mine up for $300.00 which great deal....
But on facebook market I have seen them no lower than $1000.. high as $4000. i think alot with outcome just being vintage period.. it sad that things we had back then were cheap to buy and just outragous what things are worth ...........the H2 I wish still had ....................as now the that bike is priceless to right person that what all saying it is no bike really worth what it till someone is willing to that "price" if he $19,000.00 for his 1969 sandcast CB750 good for him ...............I am happy with my $300.00 1973 ................CB750 thats what counts that happy with what you have.
