Yep, I think there's a nice mexican place in the inner suburbs David, I might have to go give it a try, I haven't eaten any decent food in so long, my cooking is starting to taste good, and I'm sh1t at cooking.
Today was a beautiful, warm, sunny day, maybe only the second nice day this month? The mailman was even good today, and dropped off the steering damper rod I bought ages ago, and the throttle cable from Finland, which I only bought a couple of weeks ago. I installed the steering damper rod, because the old one is a tad short after I had to grind the end off it, and I could no longer put the split pin (cotter pin) back in, which means if I backed it off too much, the damper assembly would fall on the road, never to be seen again. While I've somehow managed to accumulate several damper assemblies, I'd rather keep them in a tub than out on the highway.

Anyway, the sun was out and the driveway was clear, so I filled the tank with premix (the petcock police will be happy to know it's stopped dripping, so I'm guessing the rubber seal has swelled and it's fine now) and wheeled it out the front, to bump start it down the driveway. I thought that, just in case I dropped it, I better take a pic first.

Luckily for me I didn't drop it, and it started right up, so I took a short vid while it was warming up.
I jumped on, and rode it in a big loop of my suburb, so that if it did conk out and I couldn't start it, or if something got loose and needed tightening (I was only in a T shirt and jeans, with no tools) I wouldn't have far to push it, but I did ride maybe 6 or 7 miles, and that was enough, because I wanted to check on my oil pump.
The bike ran fine, the speedo is quite possibly MIA which pisses me off because I bought it from the US and it appears to be in good condition, but I did the electric drill thingy and unless the new speedo cable has somehow become a two piece, it aint working. I do have the original speedo, I might have to install it and hope it works, as #$%*ty as it looks, it has to function for the Roadworthy Inspection.
Anyway, apart from that it runs great, all the gears work fine, it's quite high geared, but that's OK, it'll probably be fairly fuel efficient, if you can put "Two Stroke" and "Fuel efficient" in the same sentence. I've got an "Unregistered Vehicle Permit" for 21 days, so I can do a few more short sneaky shakeout rides before I take it over to Jeff for a Roadworthy Inspection.
I do need to sort the oil pump, I can see that it's pumping oil to the left bank of pipes, but it's blowing air bubbles on the right bank, so I may have to loosen the banjo bolts so I can pump the air past them, and the oil up to them. More on that soon.
