Looking for good throttle and cables (CB550)
« on: September 16, 2021, 07:07:06 PM »
Got a set of Keihin CR specials 26mm.  The backbone of the bike is closer to the top of these carbs than normal.

Anyone have a lead on a good race throttle, with cables that fit the Keihin's and have a 90 degree at the carbs?

OEM cables don’t have the 90 degree you are looking for. Will probably need to go custom. Motion Pro https://www.motionpro.com/c/cables or Barnett https://www.barnettclutches.com/cables.html should be able to fix you up. For what it’s worth I use stock cables from Motion Pro on my 550 with CR29 carbs. My spare cables are in my trailer at the storage lot.  If you need the stock numbers let me know. I also use a Motion Pro throttle that I am satisfied with.

I'm using a Domino throttle with the universal cables you have to make up. They come with fittings for the carb end. I was able to use those on some cr31 carbs and they exit to the left front and the cable wraps around the neck to the throttle. Clean, out of the way setup.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.
