CB 750 centerstand
« on: August 21, 2021, 05:12:25 PM »
Am I correct that the CB 750 centerstand was the same part up  until 1977?

No, different part numbers for different models. Most stands will fit, but there may be issues with clearance around your exhaust etc. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

There are subtle differences and some early ones have obvious braces and bits that changed. Many will interchange, but as suggested, not always.....

The exhaust and its mounting I believe is the same for all 750's 1969 thru 1976, as well as the frame. Why would there be clearance problems for that series of bikes if stock exhaust is in place? The reason for this question is that I would like to mount a centerstand from a '76 that is available, onto a 1971 frame

Is the original question regarding K bikes only?

I logged into CMSNL to see the whole list of bikes a K6 centerstand will fit, it fits K1-K6. The 17" rear tire and different pipes for K7 & K8 probably led to lots of dimensional changes.

69 to 76 K model used same exhaust.
F models and 77/78 used different exhaust.

Correct, I wouldn’t assume that a centrestand for an F2 would be a perfect fit for a K1 etc. ;D
