Bonneville bound again. Heading out tomorrow the 20th, should arrive Friday afternoon and setup pits. Bike was ready a few weeks ago which is worrisome since typically it's a thrash till the last minute. This just feels wrong.
Last year we bumped up three records racing modified classic 500 classes but all in fourth gear, MPS-CG, MPS-CF, and M-CF. Shifting into fifth actually lost rpms slowly. Since then I've picked up a close ratio 5th gear from Dresda500 on the forum here, dropped that into the bike. Also picked up a 36 and 37 rear sprocket. I only had smaller sprockets last year because, well we want to go fast right. Our best run was 123+ but we didn't try to compete in Modified classic gas M-CG since that record was 128 and we weren't going to get there. So we have our sights set on that this year, get fifth gear to pull and run over 128, would love to hit 130. Still can't get my AFR gauge to act right, I may have screwed the sensor up with leaded additives.
Anyway, the promaster van is loaded and the wife is ready to hit the casinos.
