On my bucket list but unfortunately not this year.

I just got back from the Czech Republic. I spent almost four weeks with my parents, relatives and had the pleasure to show my Prague to my oldest (25) daughter.  I will not make it to Barber this year either, but if you have an idea what year would work for you, let me know and I will do my best to meet you there.

My wife and I made it in today.  We are in tent lot B.  Just beware it is a mess here.  Mud city!  4 wheel drive is your best friend around here.

We had mud at NHRA at Joliet one year. We parked under the power lines because it was high and only a little spongy. We could feel the 60 cycles in the door cables of the car trailer. Other guys had to pay an 8 wheel drive tractor to pull them out.

Went to MidOhio Vintage MC Days and races in 19 and it was a muddy mess with rain causing tons of cars to get stuck and have to be towed out and even worse was RVs in camping area.

Bristol NASCAR track is surrounded by many local campgrounds and parking areas and several years ago it flooded and rains made the area a mud bog after everyone had arrived a few days before the races which got rained out/delayed. Tractors were used to pull people out and they were charging a fortune to do it. Then the RVs were causing road hazards from all the mud they were slinging off the wheels once they got them up on SR19 and the state police and local police were pulling over the RVs and campers making them clean off the mud rather than deposit it all over the highway. A lot of pissed off race fans and attendance the next several years was awful as a result. Not sure they ever recovered.
Problem was exaggerated by the fact of timing of spring race was in a historical rainy stretch for NE TN and moving the race 2 weeks had much lower probability for rain.

Sorry all it's been mad busy since we got back.  Barber was great this year as always.  The racing was top notch as always (got a friend who raced 3 of his Ducati's there).  The swap meet left a little to be desired this year, the prices seemed high and there was just wasn't the same volume of parts as there has been in the past.  Even the fan experience area was lacking this year.  My wife is wanting a new pair of riding jeans and, there was not one single vendor selling jeans this year.  I think there was only 2 clothing vendors.  And thanks to mother nature the tent camping lot was a mess.  4 wheel drive was my friend in there.  The lot had a lot of empty spaces like the last few years.  Overall we had a blast and I'm sure we will do it again next year.
