Exhaust alternatives
« on: September 15, 2021, 06:49:21 AM »
I think MAC was the only company making systems for the A and they are out of business. Anybody know of another company? I have seen the DOHC sidewinder pipe work. I remember the early Z';s had that "S" curve in the Kerker's etc to clear the sump....could do that with the A I guess. I have one in my garage and I've been looking at trying to size it up.

A mac sidewinder does fit and the megaphone runs tight on the right side. the v&h dohc sidewinder should also work.

I'm wondering if a regular 4/1 system for the DOHC 750 would work. It has the wet sump system. Just looking at the Delkevic with the 4 separate primary pipes it might be real easy to fit to the head. Clearing the oil pan is another thing all together. This looks like it would   https://www.ebay.com/itm/313093817133?hash=item48e5d8832d:g:JwEAAOSwMNhey2k6

If there is an A close to this guy perhaps someone can drop off their bike for a custom exhaust to be made
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Mike, the exhaust on the drag bike was a V&H system made for the DOHC bikes but would need some sort of muffler for road use.
I think it came from Kenny at CycleX but I'm not 100% sure. Good luck my friend.

Thanks Sam. I know it was a V&H.....I installed it brother! Unfortunately they are listed as no longer available....I am sure one will pop up sooner or later but I will ask Kenny....that's a good idea.

I paid half that for mine.
That was more or less V&H's "economy" pipe....I sold a few of those about 25 years ago. That price is surprising but I see the original Kerker design pipes for the CB750 and Z/KZ listing for over 1,000.00 Who would have thought? ???
