 I got plugs 1 and 4 wired after finding the pre-tested plug caps and made a chrome chain guard fit it. I did get the wiring box closed over all the wiring. While spinning the motor I see an oil line has a leak at hoses. Oil pumping is a good sign. Someday soon this beast will make noise again.

 I pity the fool that took the n'F apart and lost all of the parts. It's putting a serious dent in my spare stuff collection. The headlight lacks 2 of 3 bushings and all 3 screws, just one small example. I try to accomplish one goal every day, that will get it together eventually.
  I swapped the headlight ring out to an unbent one but haven't located the hardware yet. I do have an aftermarket headlight that might work well here.

Don, I have a similar problem with a bucket that I want to use.  It's missing most of the bushings, including one of the big ones at the fork ear mount point.  Have you ever removed that bushing successfully?

 The F'nK hit the road again today for the first time since I sold it the last time. The trans had a broken thrust washer and we took it apart to inspect and replace it. It appeared to be fixed when I rode it to my brothers storage. He let it sit for a few years. Today the trans shifts fine but pops out of 5th gear. It goes into 5th but doesn't stay engaged. DANG. I'll pull the shifter cover and observe the ratchet. One clue may be the neutral
 light doesn't work.
 

  I was hoping to peddle it at the swap meet next weekend. I paid $750 for it and have what seems like years of labor in it.

That was an F1, I sold it here for $2800 or $3200 I forget. I'm pretty sure it sold at mecum later for $7750, the side covers were a shade too light and the drill pattern on the right rotor had been moved to the left. The kid that bought it said he didn't know how to ride.

 I filled up the oil on the F1 and it promptly drained out through a bad oil line. I finally needed the F0 oil tank and hoses I stored for around 10 years. There is a monster mess under the lift. I got fuel lines on it, cranked it with gas in the carbs tank off, but it didn't get enough to fire. I also didn't get oil pressure yet. I decided to let the oil hoses burp themselves overnight and came inside.

 HEY, HEY, HEY, the F1 lives! it runs and oiled the top end. Most of the bikes the PO had were just apart because that's what he did. This one had broken champion plugs and the leaky oil line. I can see the oil caked up on the frame and center stand so it had been leaking for a while. With any luck, it will shift and ride so I can ride it through the swap meet later this week.  I put a 2.5x3.5x18" exhaust tip on the it with an auger muffler baffle.

I pulled the valve cover caps with my 754 wrench. Thanks Frank.

Speaking of Claw...
He listed a cb650 motor on ebay recently for 400, it relisted and he upped the price to $440. Why would anyone do that? Unsold auctions aren't costing you that much if at all. At least the personal accounts don't run that way.

 Cutting up titled frames doesn't add up to me either. Selling rods without their caps and case tops and bottoms separately doesn't add up. I think he buys and someone else breaks them down.
  I'm not really a fan, I sold to him before I knew who he was. If I had a big old barn I could sit on bikes and parts for a longer time. I'm trying to not be a hoarder.

The claw seems to be a very strange and mysogonistic person I have realized after stumbling on his instagram page.  Despite his riches, he just seems bent on angering whatever large groups of followers he thinks he can get at...doing obnoxious stuff just because he knows he can.  Several recent posts seem particularly aimed at vintage Sportster fans, blatant destruction of supposedly rare parts along with sarcastic insults to anyone who might be upset by this.  Pretty sure he is the kid that regularly got beat up on the playground, not necessarily without good reason.

 Both bikes are running, although they need some fine tuning. Somewhere in the world F1's had drum brakes, I could claim my 77K in F clothing to be a clone of those bikes.

  I've decided to use all of the best parts on the  n'F at the expense of the F'nK.
  The F'nK might turn into an A'nK I'm going to try the A gas tank on it.

You could hook up a fuel gauge with the 'A' tank Don.

 I took the F1 front end apart, gauges headlight and brackets to do some improvements, someone had painted the chrome black, so I replaced the gauge cups, sanded and painted the housings and straightened the mounts.
 The switched headlight isn't working so I came in to check wire colors. it appears the (red/blue?)  Headlight feed to the dimmer switch isn't getting power. The low wiring box is suspected.

 Brown/white to the dimmer switch is hot with the headlight switch on, neither white nor blue are hot with the switch in either position. Broken wire connection, or bad switch I guess.

 Bwahaha, went back out after dinner and the accessory light fuse was blown but before I changed it, I noticed that the headlight had begun working. This Motha F'er is haunted.

 I noticed this bike has a #50 combine chain with two master links. I had re-used it just to see if it would run before spending any more $$ on it. I looked it up on Partzilla just for the link count and was surprised to see the 102 link chain is listed as not available. Really?

Don, if replacing the fuse killed your headlight then I would bet the 12v from one circuit was getting put in headlight ground point causing potential to be zero between headlamp filaments. I have seen bad grounds do some truely bizarre stuff on back feeding car electrical systems back in the 80s...
Cleaned up the ground paths and all the ghosts in the system were gone, until time to clean things up again...

  I agree, bad grounds will make electrons go crazy.
  The two things happened at once, when I went back out after dinner and tried it, the headlight was suddenly working and the other fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and the accessory lights all came back on.  I've ridden it around the neighborhood today and all of it is working. 
 Haunted I tell you. The neutral light is stuck on, otherwise it's all good. A nut and bolt check before the ride turned up loose carb clamps and a couple engine bolts that were still loose. I black primed the FB-stuff sidecovers and they look awesome. A couple coats of sandable primer and they would be perfect.
  I hope to sell this and buy an 890 kit for the Hot Rod.
