CB 550F 069A carburetor
« on: October 01, 2021, 12:09:38 PM »
So I have been rebuilding a 1976 CB 550f for a bit now and the carbs were constantly giving me issues. I've got a few online manuals and such but have not found a good diagram of the 069A keihin carburetor. Working on the carbs has basically been me disassembling and reassembling as they were. I watched a good video of a rebuild last night and when he pulled the main jet I was dumbfounded. Mine, when I take a part, actually has an O-Rong in the middle AND on the bottom nipple????? Picture is a screen shot of the video..No O-ring

What you have encircled in red, is not the main jet. It's the valve seat, where the float needle's conical tip controls the fuel flow. The valve is supposed to have just one O-ring, in the middle. The main jet is also supposed to have just one, rather small, O-ring. See pic below. The main jet sits right under the needle jet (aka emulsion tube). The end with the O-ring is supposed to be up. The groove on the other end is to accomodate the springleave that keeps the main jet pressed in position, once the float bowl is put on again.
