CB750 K5 Engine Rebuild - Crankcase bolt replacement
« on: October 03, 2021, 05:42:37 PM »
Just joined this forum after recommendation by a few members in the Melbourne Cafe Racers facebook group. Hello from Melbourne!

Am in the midst of a nut and bolt engine rebuild of a CB750. I have experience rebuilding diesel pajero engines, and general motorcycle repairs / maintenance.

After giving it a red hot go to find an answer on this forum I haven't been able to get a clear answer on this one.

The crankcase bolts (8mm and 6mm bolts) from the engine still look to be in great condition. Is there a general consensus that they are ok to re-use?

If not ok, can anyone recommend where I can get a set as ebay is apparently useless for this particular set of bolts.

Welcome to the forum.
No problem reusing crankcase bolts at all. You can even re-use conrod bolts are they are not stretch to yield items.
We have a forum member known as "Terry from Australia" who also lives in Melbourne. He has rebuilt and owns many CB750's so you could maybe make contact with him if you needed more help.
