Much appreciated!
My confusion was based on the nut that sits on top of the arm. All the parts diagrams show three metal tabs. I have no idea what the nut or the tabs are for. What is the purpose? Thanks!

Here is a picture of the metal tabs on my 71 swing arm. Its in the same location as the nut on the later swing arm.
The chain guard on the 71 doesn't come in contact with these tabs.

Yes, I think you are correct. Pictures of the 72-76 CB750 chain guard show a hole where the guard bolts into that nut. I guess the OEM K1 guard clips into those tabs and holds it in place. Obviously, my 71 guard is not OEM. Not surprised! Appreciate the help.

Bend up a “U” channel of aluminum about 4” long. Bolt one end down and trim it so your earlier guard snaps into it..... should line up fine?

Not CB750 1976. (K6)
It has a slightly different shape closer to where it is attached to frame. The grease nipple sit in the swing arm.
But no problem to use a K2 swing arm on a K6.
My blue K6 has a K2 swing arm.

I'll be putting it on a K1. Having some fit issues which I mentioned on another post. Not sure of the reason yet.  Thanks!
