This is to all members. I picked up 754's tappet wrenches at Frank's Storage/shop and with the blessing of his wife Sabina, I suggested that I would donate (there are 20 of them) to the SOHC/4 Owners Club. I will mail ( my coin) them to a member or a moderator that will look after the selling or auction them off to raise money for the club. I am too busy to take on this task. What say ye?

If you break them up as memoirs of Frank I'll def be in line. Or when the whole set goes up I'll be bidding. As I'm sure many of us will be.

Great idea!   If you want to ship to Texas, I am willing to take on the task of selling them to the members here.  If you prefer not to ship to U.S., I get it, no prob.  What will the money be donated too?

He had helped me out a few times over the past year. He was always very straightforward and no nonsense in his explanations and thats what I respected about him as well as his vast knowledge of all things 750 and engineering. Really sad and mad to see him go so soon. He deserved another 20 years. Too bad I wasn't able to get one of his weldless frame kits from him. Rest in Peace
Thankful for everyone on this forum. Grateful to continue to learn so much.

If there is a greater demand than the supply, I say each should be auctioned off. Remember these come from his shop and to me they are a good piece to have that says what Frank was about. I do believe his brother's business did the laser cut. What will the money be donated too? Good question Stev-o I guess to keep this club going maybe the club can make some some T-shirts to sell in his memory? I think USA is a good distribution location. Keep on giving suggestions. Thanks!

I made a donation a while back to sohc4 as a memorial for Frank, Bobby R, Bob Wessner.

http://www.sohc4.com/donate/

I earned one of Franks tappet wrenches for being first in, in his 20 rides x 100 miles in 2020 thread. At the time, Frank told me he had a stash of these wrenches squirreled away somewhere in his shop and more recently I was afraid they would be gone with the estate sale. I’m very happy to see they have made their way here, and onward to you all, just as I think Frank would have desired.

i think he intends it to be the SOHC4 forums, but I think it best to split it, as I am sure the cash injection would be appreciated. or set a fixed amount for the forums administration, which donations to the forums pay the hosting and software maintance bills or if someone is doing it on a server they are running and maintaining and then have the software fees for using the Simple Machines Free forums.

trust me, anyone who lives alone can back me up on this…the cost of living alone is overall less than having two people, but these days most couples both work or both have income and the space may be a little larger and more expensive, but the 2nd income leads to less expenses usually overall. There are food issues in things are often geared to more than one person and you tend to have more variety in your diet as well as ability to afford healthier meals and two people living in the same space often see economies in more expensive items than the added cost of water and heating it and two people live in the same space and use same heat or cooling cost you save that much or nearly that much by not having that second rent or mortgage, etc.

So, Sabina's cost of living has gone up because unless things work differently in Canada, the spouse's benefits are no longer paid and Frank was disabled and he did stuff on the side to bring money into the household.

So, maybe I am of a different breed or thought train than most.
I would be inclined to say, it all goes to Sabina.
Especially in light of inflation and the erosion of buying power...which is very real for those of us who have fixed incomes and little to no options on increasing that income.

I agree with Raf. This could possibly be the best way to show appreciation to Frank by helping his partner.
Hopefully we can raise a chunk of change for her. Maybe start bidding around 25 a pop or so.

I would rather see his wife/kids getting an award or plaque honoring Frank for his contribution to the club forum, but none is expected. The main purpose is to keep this club going, even if the money sits in a bank until the clubs needs it for a rainy day.
Gurp 25 a pop a good starting point.

His Brother has just posted this on Instagram:

effneffbros
A spreading of ashes ride will be held on June 11th for Frank - We are meeting at the first pull out along Duck Lake on highway 97, north of the airport. All welcome, at 9:30 we are leaving and heading for O'Keefe Ranch. Option to meet there between 10:30 and 11am. Next we will ride a loop through Falkland, Chase, Salmon Arm and return to Kelowna.

Hopefully some people from on here are able to take part

I mounted my 754 tappet wrench on the back of my 1978 ( still original owner).  I clocked 311Km on the memorial ride. Last photo is his wife , his son & his daughter. This was where the last of Frank's ashes were released.
Ride on 754.

Good turnout. RIP Frank, your boy is definitely his fathers son. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Stev-o for doing the distribution. I’m going to take a photo with myself, my CB, my wrench, and post it here for Franks family. Too bad we can’t get together for a photo….. but maybe there’s a way around that.
