Many Thanks to the Motschko family for sharing with us here at SOHC4: sharing his time with us, and also sharing the tappet wrenches.

I have only met in person a very few of my SOHC4 friends, and sadly Frank wasn’t among those that I have met in person. I couldn’t attend his visitation or the ride. So here I am, Sabina, Julia, Vincent, offering my condolence and a photo. My CB is better than it would have been without his input, and I am grateful for all the help I find at SOHC4.

Damn, this topic is a year old and somehow I missed the news. I met Frank in 2017 when he rode down to the SOHC4 Family Reunion event I put together in Colorado. I have his frame kit on my bike. A really great guy who had some fantastic stories to share.

He always seemed to have a crass, no nonsense way about things - thats what I respected about him. I wonder how many replies he would've had to my seemingly dumb questions.

"Dumb" questions often get many good answers.
I have read dumb questions I later met in reality.
I thanked the dumb question that tought me what I'm just facing myself knowing the answer, it was not that dumb after all

    I Am So Sorry That Frank Is Gone. Had Some Great Conversations With Him. He Shared Alot Of Info & Such, That He Knew About The Indian Motorcycles Too, That My Dad & Granddad Sold &

  I was reading through one of my project threads and saw some information and advice that Frank gave to me, this isn't the first internet friend that I never met but miss a lot. I noticed the giant smile he always seemed to have in pictures of him. I kind of got a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye thinking that I missed a chance to meet and ride with Frank and a few of you.

Identifying CB750 cylinders and heads of various years was typical his area of expertise among so much more.

PeWe…... I feel the same. His encyclopedic memory for parts variances was amazing.

Don…….. He convinced me to scrub, soak, strip, polish and rework 99% of the parts on my Sandcast. The original paint and patina on all the body panels and tank will totally be in his honour. I think I will call the finish “FRANKED”. He could be a pain but I truly loved (and miss) his input.

P.S. Frank also completely understood when I lost my mind and bought a chopper. I always wanted one and he passed on tons of great info when the machine confused me totally! He instantly recognized the unique FUBAR pipes on it. What a character.

We definitely lost alot when we lost Frank. He was also a great cheerleader for this site, always looking for ways to get people fired up. He loved challenges with games like scavenger hunt, where is this picture from and many others. His XX Rides in 20XX challenge is a perfect example, and lives on in his honor!
