Ship a Motorcycle Across Canada Option.....
« on: October 16, 2021, 02:45:22 PM »
Interesting shipping discovery this week. I recently purchased a new, “no numbers” set of HM300 Yamiya 4-4 Pipes from a Member here on this forum. They are in the original, individual cartons, in the big box. Unfortunately he is in Western Canada, and I’m in Ontario, just east of Toronto. He kindly dropped them off to a good friend of mine, in Calgary, Alberta. Now what?

Somebody on the CVMG (Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group) website mentioned they had a motorcycle shipped across country by a small shipping company. I checked out their website and was intrigued. Husband and wife team, driving back and forth, across the country. Sent Henry an email at Hassle Free Shipping. He responded immediately and said he will be coming this way in a few days. He will pick up my large carton in Calgary, and deliver to me. Cdn.$150.00 cash!  Real nice guy to talk to and seemed like the real deal. Pipes are on their way. Fingers crossed.

I've shipped a cb400f on a train from Winnipeg to Toronto. They put it on a skid for you and it arrives 3 days later. 8 years ago it cost me 600 bucks.

I've also shipped and frame and a CB750 engine from Sydney Nova Scotia to Toronto on Air Canada cargo. I flew out there put it on the airplane in the afternoon and it was in Toronto in the morning.  Hassle free.

Until the pandemic Air Canada cargo would ship your motorcycle within Canada and almost all over the world with the exception of the US. It's paused for now because of the pandemic but will resume. When shipping a motorcycle outside of Canada you have to clean the tires from dirt and usually empty the gas tank. It's actually cheaper than you might think.

Pipes arrived. Henry is a super guy and the price was $150 total. No extras, screaming deal. I will use him again!

FYI..... I sold my 1916 Cleveland to a gentleman in Victoria, BC last week. I’m east of Toronto. He contacted Henry at “Hassle Free” and once again, he is 1/2 price of anyone else! As long as you are prepared to wait on Henry’s Schedule (when it suits him), excellent deal and service.

Henry picked up the Cleveland today. Nice fellow, took lots of real care. Had five motorcycles in the truck (and a lot of other stuff too). Each one had a front wheel chock, screwed down to the deck, and lots of good looking ratchet straps. Another smooth experience, so far. Will update.

Great gig, for a semi retired trucker. He also pulls along an enclosed UHaul trailer. Rents what he needs, 10-14 days at a time. His wife orchestrates the route from home. Mostly cash deals, I suspect not every item appears on the “books”. Two of the bikes were Halifax to Toronto, then he had a full load for a Trailer he was picking up in Toronto, and headed west. Pretty clever.

So he does come all the way east? I'm in PEI but could also meet him on the mainland.

He was on his way home from Nova Scotia, last time he was here! Give them a call, as long as you can wait for when he’s headed east, I’m sure he can help. All my deliveries have been totally satisfactory.
