Thank you for those , I printed them. It's a lot less info than the newer type. My biggest question is the preset at 35* part, the only marks on mine are ones I made myself which seem to be suspect. I'm not racing this beast but it would be awesome to start it at a few car/bike shows and ride it once in a while.
I used to think I was reasonably intelligent and knew a few things about magnetos and engines but this beast fools and frustrates me all of the time. I think an exorcist or medicine man might be called for. I'd burn some sage but the leaking gas might light up.
All that said, I predict it will run today. I believe the current timing is closer to 45* so I'll back it off a top tooth before trying again. With 24 volts the mag will light up the timing light, I just need to do the math on the diameter and degrees on what's left of the flywheel/starting clutch.
I marked TDC on the flywheel and using a bit of math marked it approx. 30* advanced. I got the timing light to light directly on the advance mark. Thanks for the help Medyo.
