trailer pics

My digital camera works much better in the daytime hours, but these pics give a pretty good impression of what the trailer looks like. I just got it tonight. This is the $200, 3 rail trailer I posted about last week.

I like the chrome/gold rims...somebody "pimped" your trailer  ;D

Nice looking trailer but no from chalk that I could see for the front wheels? am I missing something?

Nope, you aren't missing a thing; this trailer doesn't have front wheels. It is a two wheeler.

I need to pull it away from the shed so I can get pics of the lights in the back.

Sorry...I wasn't too clear there...I meant there was no chalk for the front wheel of each of the bikes to sit into at the front of the rail...

Gotcha! This was advertised as a "home made dirt bike trailer" but it is soldly enough built to carry a CB550 around. If I have to modify the front rails to better secure a bike, I guess I can do that much.

What you call "chalk" I suppose is where the bike railing is slanted up to prevent a loaded bike from rolling further forward? It does have that in fact. The pics are just that lame that they don't show that part!

Hell for that price it was a steal so a little modifying is a small price to pay! I would do something first before actally towing in order to sort of cradle the fron tire...nothing major...

Likely I would just have a piece of plate welded up front so the tire doesn't slide forward and a piece of round bar from the top of that plate down to the side rail to avoid any side to side movement of the front tire.

Another 20 bucks in material and 10 minutes of crude welding and it will be plenty secure...

Nice find for the coin for sure! Other thing to consider if you choose would be a rock guard for the front so no gravel is kicked up from the towing vehicle onto the bike though that box on the fron may be enough to act as a sheild.

       Hey Greg,

Yes, it is definitely a nice trailer, especially for what you gave for it.

What 78K was calling "Chalk" was actually "Chock", I believe. And I'm not trying to be smart, just trying to help clarify.

About 3 years ago, I picked up on a "Wave Runner" trailer for $150. I stripped the top side of the trailer, got a 4' x 8' sheet of exterior 3/8" plywood (cut it to fit) added 3 angle iron cross braces on the trailer frame, attached the plywood, added some tiedown rings, got 3 plastic wheel chocks from Wal Mart, mounted them and got it licensed. Oh yes, I picked up a set of ramp end caps from Wal Mart on clearance, attached them to a pair of 2x6s about 5' long each and slid them into the frame under the plywood (where the lower part of the Jet Ski used to sit in) and secured them.
First chance I get, I'll get some pictures and try to post them. Trailer's got a 1000 lb capacity.

                                                      Later on, Bill :) ;)

Sorry I was using the "Canadian" spelling of the word  ;) .... Actually I'm just a horrible speller...

OOPS, I didn't think about there being another word for it. We all live and learn eh? I've just learned something myself. Kinda funny how things are named different from one country to another. Myself, I'm always open to learn the different wording and try not to offend someone, in that respect. Thanks for bringing that too my attention. ;)
