Hello from Florida!
« on: October 24, 2021, 05:59:30 PM »
I'm Jake, a 20-something former lurker and new member with a bad case of verbal diarrhea ;D. I picked up my first CB a few months ago, a 1976 CB750F1 with almost 44k miles on the clock. I'm the third owner, and ready to bring this bike back to life. It ran decent when I picked it up, rode it home 3 hours from Ft. Pierce to Lakeland with no issues. I figured meh, I'll leave it as-is mechanically and just go about my business with routine maintenance, hence my previous justification for staying a lurker. Well, I checked my oil before a long ride out to Holmes Beach and discovered gas - and not a small amount by any means. This led me down to the carbs, where I found a set of 069As that hadn't been touched in YEARS. PO ran pod filters with the stock 105 main, and jerry-rigged much more electrical than I had previously thought. So, here I am; ready to build my CB from the ground up into the bike I've dreamed of owning since childhood. I'll be the first to admit that I'm on the unexperienced side of things, and I'm here to learn everything I can from those wiser and more experienced than myself, from part numbers and torque-specs to age-old techniques you can only learn from the old biker down the street (or across the world in the case of an expansive internet forum LOL). I'm excited to be here, and thankful for a group of like-minded and well-traveled riders.

Here's a link to my first post, loaded with a few of my first general tech questions: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,188305.msg2185466.html#msg2185466

I see you've got the special model with the front brake on the right and the 4:1 exhaust on the left side.

Welcome!

Jokes come in different strengths, that one was just very weak and hardly original.
