Thanks for asking Don R. I am not sure yet. I am headed to my mechanics shop in a coup!e of hours. I will get a hands on look then. Hopefully it is not severe.

Never mind the "dink" the visible erosion would worry me
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

I have decided to rework the top end. Now,I need to find a reputable shop in Michigan to do the repairs. Thanks
