Bad Bad day yesterday. I got everything bolted up, EI in and timed, filled the motor to proper oil level, ran a temporary gas line, and kicked it over to start the break in. The engine ran after five or six kicks, settled in and ran for about 45 seconds, then a low metallic bang and it seized. The builder of course says he will make it right, and I have pulled the motor out again and heading back to Pennsylvania in the morning, a royal PITA. I checked both cylinders with my scope and the right side wall shows bad scaring from something. The builder is going to pull the head as soon as I get there in the morning to try and find the cause. He has built probably well over a hundred of these motors and this is first time there has been a problem. I am running out of time though with knee replacement looming a little over a month away. The Triumph 1967 T100C should be ready in two weeks, according to the North Carolina builder, hopefully that will go smoothly, the parts bill is paid, I can't wait to see the labor charge. I have been checking around and I think I can get the Wife a part time job at the local 7-11 working the midnight shift to help out a bit, a 70 year old woman shouldn't need that much sleep. I hope she takes it well.........
