SOHC Censors?
« on: March 01, 2007, 07:01:48 AM »
It seems fine to call a bike with a modified frame and exhaust a piece of non art and slag the guy who done the  work off BIG time, but if you make a comment about an other issues in a forum for discussion those post get deleted……BIG BROTHER what’s that all about?

Cheers ???

Well, let's see...  There's quite a big difference between someone asking for other's opinions and getting them (regardless of how they may be stated), and someone, unprovoked even, ragging on, ridiculing, and belittling many people's bikes and the hard work they put into them, which is what you did.

I'm not commenting on wether or not I agree with removing posts, because I don't feel like getting into that, but treat people on this forum the same way you would if they were standing right in front of you, and you'll have fewer, if any, problems.  I can pretty much guarantee that you don't talk to people in person the way you came off in the posts you're refering to, because if you did, you probably wouldn't be able to talk at all.

I'm agreeing with Gordon and the reason the posts were removed might have something to do with where they were posted. I mean, that was on the BOTM forum not the OPEN forum. Do you think that it's possible that THAT is the reason? ??? BTW, the winner of this BOTM was a Stock CB350F.

I read your post just fine, thanks, and remember it well, and I got the fact that you don't like having cafe and stock bikes in the same contest.  And, no, you didn't ridicule "any person's" bike, you ridiculed EVERY person's bike that happens to be in the cafe style.  You got your point across, and then kept going for some reason.

Dave, we're moderators - not censors.

We try to keep the site within the rules and common decency - compared to some sites I look at, I think we do a reasonable job.

Go watch some footy on Saturday and go out for a blat on your bike on Sunday - the weather looks OK.

I'm going to look at a Blackbird tomorrow, not saying the VFR isn't good enough but the grass is always greener...

One thing's for sure. I'll always have an SOHC.

Since we've agreed that a civil, gentler, and kinder SOHC site is in all of our best interests, I think this is a good time to make  DammitDan  change his username to DarnitDan. ;D

I think you are over-reacting Heffay. I dont think a "ban" is at all necessary in this case and even to threaten one is an over-reaction. While I dont agree with Bifftas opinions on cafe bikes (I have one of my own) he is entitled to his opinion and if it were posted in the Open forum then I see no problem. Id rather not see a knee-jerk reaction to ban someone everytime someone writes something controversial - and while Bifftas comments could be taken as offensive to some (with soft skin) I think what he was really saying was that he dosent like the cafe style - so what? thats his opinion. Take a chill pill and relax. Bans are not necessary for something like this.

cheers
Andy

Actually, you never know nowadays, at least in pictures.  She does have big fake titties, narrow hips, and very strong facial features...effeminate men can be made to look like very passable women.  Like I said, at least in pictures.  That why I like natural boobies, big or small, and thick, child bearin hips.  But then Im from rural roots, cant beat good ol corn fed women!
Yep, I can see what you mean. Living here in NY has blinded me to what a real woman is supposed to look like:
