The engine no is CB750E-2738679
CB750E-2738679 is a very late K7 engine, near last day.
Please report frame vin
Frame is 2720131

Frame is also a K7 [1977].  Here is the model guide...

That front end looks freakishly odd, do you plan to change it?
Yes I will install an original triple tree. Will see if i can find out what the current triple tree is from and sell it.

To cb750.  I curious if you are collecting VIN numbers as part of a location and survivor listing.  I have 4 on the road and 4 more project bikes.

I have the frame, engine, build date for 1200 bikes.
Most are 69 and 70 as I have interest in these years, I have a few from the other years.
I also have knucklehead and Indian files as I have interest.
There is a guy that has records for every Indian that sold on ebay since 2000 and the Mecum auctions.
With several thousand records we can count the number of new bikes that appear each year and make predictions.

I see a k7 or 8 tank, pre-7 carbs,  but the fork lock in the last picture is one not on my k7 or 8.  The fork lock on my 7&8's is part of the ignition block.   Can't see the left-front-top motor mount which is a bolt-on vs welded-on.  K7 has bolt-on motor mount one year only.
I have a 78F I can check but I'd rather wait for daylight to go check

A good friend and I have restored 3-4 K7/8 bikes (and scrapped a few). Let me know if you need any parts.
They look great and thanks for the offer! I am situated in Denmark, so shipping from US may be expensive. But if I run in to trouble finding the right parts, I may come back to you. 8)

From the above picture this is the left upper motor mount that you refer to I think? This is welded…

Not sure what you mean with the fork lock. My triple tree is not original.

Those triple trees look like a set of Marzochi unit's that I got recently, mine are too close top to bottom for a 750 neck and 37mm forks.

I checked my '76k, '78f & '78k,  and found... none of them have a welded on fork lock as shown on your head tube. The '78f does not have the rear brake arm pivot attached to the frame as yours does.  So my conclusion is your frame is not  from '77 or '78, F or K, and does not appear to be from '76 either, so it must be an ealier frame. Hope this helps.

European frames use this type of fork lock, usa uses another style.

The carbs are definitely pre-1977. The carbs on your pictured bike are from 69-76. The rear wheel looks like it came from a 1977 or 1978 CB750K.

The rear footpegs' "triangle" on the frame points out this is a K7/8 frame.

Ok so I managed to pick up a cheap, Dutch apparently, donor bike, which is also a CB 750 K7. So I will try to see how I can combine these bikes and hopefully get a relatively original running bike out of it (we all know it never goes that easy).

I also have a K4 waiting to be restored, where I am almost done sourcing the original parts. I made a seperate forum thread for that one.

Only later european frames had the steering lock on the side typically 77 onwards
