finally got a new bulb for my high beam lights, that works.

turn signal idiot light works too, no problems

but the oil and neutral lights both just flash once instantaneously when I turn the key from off to on, and then again when turning the key to off.

I did blow a fuse when I went to test the lights before re-inserting them into the idiot light holder, I think two of the wires got crossed, possible between the oil and neutral lights. could this have damaged the neutral and oil sensors themselves?

hi beam and turn lights getting ~10 volts, oil and neutral lights only getting ~0.15V.

Anything to be checked or done that might save the cost of ordering new sensors?

Sensors are too basic to be damaged more likely a bad switch or contact. You are using normal bulbs not led are you

I have both normal and LED, both behaving the same way.

Thanks for that confirmation, I'll chase electrons some more.

Fixed. If your bulbs and bulb sockets look like this, clean em.

High resistance coating with intermittent connection...lovely stuff.
If it had been Delta's bike it would never develop that...

Deltas bike in fact reverses that process and makes rainbows instead!

It's a pretty funny thing. I did briefly swap in LEDs before I realized that the oil and neutral lights have reversed polarity, which caused them to blink erratically so I put in the old bulbs, and then those _also_ blinked erratically but it was because the bases were cruddy and the connection was bad.

I guess it's just a coincidence that it only started happening after I blew a fuse by crossing a ground with a hot wire. That was around the same time I took out the old bulbs to see for myself if the LEDs were any brighter (I was having a hard time seeing the neutral light during the day).

I left LEDs in my turn and hi-beam indicators, as I find them a bit easier to see in sunlight. Don't yell at me about the charging system, I know it's fine, that's not why I'm doing it, my OE reg/rec work just fine and the bike charges at like 2k rpm. May eventually reverse the wiring on those two sockets, but for now rebuilding the clutch lifter has made finding neutral super easy so I don't care that much.
