1980 CB650C Tachometer Cable to RPM ratio
«

OK.... so i've got a Shimpo ST-207B Digital Tachometer/ RPM guage. I want to make an adapter for it so that i can hook the Tachometer Cable to it and use as a precision tachometer tool.
Is it a 1:1 ratio between 1 RPM and 1 turn of the tachometer cable? If not what is the ratio.
Many thanks
Joe

From memory, Hondas below 550cc have a 1:7 ratio and 550+cc go to a 1:4 ratio, 4000RPM engine speed = 1000RPM cable speed. Pretty easy to check by turning the crank and looking at the cable end though.
