Per the Honda Common Service Manual - the rims are different, from tubeless to tubes.

In addition, the Honda manual indicates that if the rim is meant for tubeless, it is marked.  No marks for tube-only rims.

Some Comstars (reverse Comstars) are for tubes (1979 CB650) and some are tubeless (1980 CB650).  The GoldWings are the same (79 is tubed, and 80 is tubeless).

To the best of my knowledge, all normal (i.e., not reverse) Comstars are meant for tubes.

1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

I fired off an e-mail to Continental just to confirm it's OK to use a regular inner tube (such as Continental E18 or Michelin 18 MF TR4) in their ContiRoadAttack 2 CR tire.  A press release from Continental says, "All are tubeless but can be fitted with an inner tube when used on tube type wheel rims."

Just to update, Continental has confirmed over the phone that it is fine to run a regular inner tube with their ContiRoadAttack2 CR tires.

I believe the general rule is that if it has spokes it has a tube!   There are very few spoked wheels that are tubeless, but there are some.

I would like to get a pair of Tubeless Tire Applicable aluminum wheels of the proper width to install radial tubeless tires,18" rear and 19" front;has anyone here ever considered this or know if tubeless radial tires even come in 18" 0r 19" sizes to fit our sohc4's ??  I think radial tires would be excellent on our bikes,if nothing else but for the comfort of the 'footprint'/contact patch and the flexible sidewalls.

Continental Classic Attacks are the only radial tires (tyres) that I know off that come in the CB750 standard sizes.
