This frame had a CB750 engine but is not a CB750 frame
Please id frame.

No vin tag, not cb750 dohc (photo attached)
The unknown frame has wide double tube on top
The unknown frame has unusual lower engine mount (not cb750)
The unknown frame has unusual swing arm mount.

By the design of the swing arm mounts i would guess shaft drive, IT IS NOT a chrome moly hardtail frame

I agree on both points. It's similar to an early Honda Saber or Magna with those cast bits with round openings. Those tank mounts are another familliar feature that I just can't place.

Those half-round mounts at the back end of the frame must be a clue- what were they for originally? Something with either under-seat silencers or hard luggage as standard maybe?

I thought someone would know then I lost hope after a few days.
I had one of these a few decades ago, the only thing I remember it was very fast.
