Never seen this one, but for sure a neat bike for its time. I really like that seat.
Interesting fuel injection set up, I'd like to see the rest of it. Where did you see this listed at?

New to me.

Boy not a lot of sandcast parts left on that one.

It would be smart to verify the numbers on the engine and frame.

And check the tank for wrinkles.

Nicknames on a bike were apparently a thing. I got this one recently. The tank art has a dragon man flying away with a woman.
I'd also like to see more of the turbo bike.

I'm more interested in what the motor internal work that has been done. I can see the cam tower has the added strengthening bolts so my interest has been caught. It has the rayjay turbo, Henry Abe wheels and a frame mod to facilitate popping the top end off, so it was probably raced at some point and a steering dampner added. If I were to buy it,  it would be to keep it as is and ride it not try to bring it to a showroom resto.
Yes the numbers are sandcast, frame and case.

I’d take a better look.  Those cases are NOT sandcast.  The sandcast engine number plates were flat across, with no raised perimeter.  The pad was also much narrower on a sandcast.  Pics below(yours and two sandcast engines).  That raised perimeter was diecast only.  It is entirely likely that engine case set was a swapped in no number(blank serial number) replacement case that …may….have be dealer swapped because of the dreaded drive chain breakage issue. They often stamped the cases to match the factory case number.

Diecast cases mean diecast outer covers too.

Need to check the cylinder and head to see if they are sandcast.

I’m not trying to give you a hard time here.  But selling anything sandcast related holds a premium.  Knowing what is and is not genuine sandcast makes a difference value wise.

I know of a rare road race bike built in 1970 from a sandcast.  No need to restore it…😉

It’s got quite a unique vintage look going on there.

I’ve got a sandcast head and cylinder here for visual comparison if you need it.  They are unique.

Best of luck with the purchase regardless.

We been lookin' at this one in another thread and I am like ,"did they just spray down the whole bike with wd40 or something before taking pictures?"
The whole thing looks like it is covered with crap.  But yeah, looks like a lot of cool old hardware there.  Seller claims the cases are replacement stamped.  Does the picture of the frame number look legit?.

Good points George and Sean. Enlarged, the frame numbers do look like they might have been changed......

Yes I was thinking the same thing regarding that stamped neck.

I’m no sandcast expert, but I ...think… the sandcast neck tags should all look like the black one below.  I’ve read in Australia, they put those no numbers aluminum tags on with no frame number.  Fake (replacement) ones are available to purchase for $30 by a guy selling z50 parts and new tags.

I’d be VERY leery of this bike regarding any genuine sandcast anything.  The unicorn upper tree and gauge bezels look perhaps correct.  Other than that…🤷‍♂️

Maybe the oil tank.  I’d ask about sandcast specific wrinkles just under the gas cap.  look for the lack of bolt at the the center front of the head/cylinder.

I’m glad I didn’t profess to be a sandcast expert….😎. Thanks for correcting me👍

The Honda stamping letter/number style was pretty unique.  I’ve seen a bunch of restamped frames and engine numbers, but all I’ve seen were easy to pick out as the stampings were clearly not factory type.

The neck stamp does appear to be the factory stamp.  At least font wise…

So I’d think that may well be a sandcast frame.  If a forgery, someone managed to locate factory stamps or an impressively close match.  As for the rest…

This tag is correct for sandcast bikes from #1 to approx #5900, the metal tab with vin and build date arrived near #5900, one of many changes.

5511 has the silver sticker. No date, no number. The guy states the engine case is a restamp so, it's legit. Admittedly not original, although the font appears correct.
I have a no number frame and a pair of no number cases, one out of a sandcast.
