The weather yesterday was awful, cold and wet, but today was better. I crawled out of bed and when I realised that it wasn't raining I wolfed down my eggs and bacon then drove over to my self storage unit and rolled the triumph out into the sunlight. Weirdly, I turned the ignition of my 1994 Harley Sportster on, and got no lights anywhere, it was as if I'd left the ignition on 2 weeks ago and completely drained the battery? It was fully charged when I rode it 80 miles only 2 weeks ago?
Anyhoo, I fired the Triumph up and was happy that the battery I'd "Inherited" from Davey's Harley was fine and fired it right up. I put on my helmet and jacket while it was warming up, then took off. The bike ran perfectly, but for some weird (again with the weird...) reason, the genuine Triumph accessory clock that I installed in 2009 was for some reason, running backwards, at speed? What I mean is, both the hour and minute hands were turning anti-clockwise as if by magic. Double weird. I eventually managed to stop the hands from moving by pressing both the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons, and the clock stopped completely. Being a Triumph you'd assume that the electrics would be poor, but the clock was most likely made in China? Anyhoo, it's permanently stuck on 6 O'clock now, so it'll be correct at least twice a day from now on.
Apart from that, the big beast happily purred along at 3K RPM, or around 80 MPH with the occasional burst of 100 MPH or more when I was overtaking a line of cars and trucks. I stopped at the Heathcote Bakery for a pastie and a flavoured milk, which was nice.

On the way home I saw a nice old church, so being as it's Sunday I parked the bike and quietly thanked God (or Buddha, The Great Pumpkin, Jehova, Allah, whoever) for weekends and motorcycles, his (or her, yawn....) two greatest creations. I didn't dare go inside, lest the roof collapsed on my head, a common occurrence for sinners like me.

I avoided any rain that was hanging around and got home early enough to do some work on my cousin's horrible Velo Solex moped before it got too dark. Once inside, Felix the cat decided that my foot seat was as close as he was going to get to sitting on my lap, and made himself comfortable. Ride #13 in the bag, not sure when #14 is happening as my Mum just told me that my only living uncle has just lost that title, so I imagine I'll be attending a church for the second time in less than a week, I hope Uncle Bruce's passing wasn't my fault?
