You're supposed to get those with grilled onions, not sliced. Watcha matter you?

Nah, you gotta go "Animal style“ or it is just a half measure. I often do grilled onions, they carmelize them up nice and brown ...
Just decided to change it up today.
Figured you'd be busting me on not having fries and a milkshake...
Chocolate, strawberry or vanilla shake?
Animal style fries : fries with melted cheese slices on top with layer of the thousand island dressing *(In-N-Out spread) beneath cheese  with diced grilled onions on top...

Wasn't out on the bike today but took a couple photos of a burger I get sometimes when out for a ride and meal... It is located in a shopping center area, so surrounding area isn't really photogenic...
The infamous Double-Double from In-N-Out burger.

Sign has been up in window for a year, hiring starting at $16/hr going up to $19.50/hr for shift worker mgmt types I guess...
The rank and file line worker shift lead, not store mgrs, they make quite a bit more. Their employees work hard, are moving constantly and no standing about twiddling thumbs there...
Their food is fresh and tasty with good quality ingredients.

That's not a bad looking burger David, I've got an American niece and nephew, my nephew lives here in Melbourne now, but he told me once that "In and Out" burgers were pretty good. Over here the catering industry is in crisis, they're all short staffed, are advertising for staff and paying pretty good money to attract them, but still struggle to find good people. Is that your Mini in the background? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Yeah, spent my savings from past 6 months and belt tightened up the past four to put a pair or regular tires on the Mini after having a road hazard that Costco prorated to only give me $89 back on...
The pair of new tires ran me 388 installed. Cooper S 2 door hardtops don't have spare tires and as such only run run-flat tires. Couldn't find any replacement and Bridgestone still doesn't have a production date on the tires so after 2 months I scraped together enough to do the tires. Was going to spend that money on insurance that renews this month and pay it off in full or in fewer monthly or in 4 payments or less to save some money. Then Geico bumped my annual MC insurance by $400. Switching to a different carrier. Auto insurance only increased by $7/month and renters insurance remained at same level. Paying$75/month more than I was 6 months ago for rent. Didn't buy much groceries the past two months and eating food I stockpiled in pantry and freezer before pandemic and since pandemic when prices were lower.
My departure from life as a working engineer to life on disability has not been fun or easy. Rental properties in Tucson went way up and less than 5% of entire number are available at any time with demand keeping competition for those units. House prices have adjusted some but rentals have not. So, my intention to move closer to where I travel to hasn't been able to occur. Lots of neighborhoods in Tucson are either crime ridden or just too expensive. So, I will be staying where I am until ai find something.

Gotta change oil in bike and clean and grease chain. Need to flush brake system fluid and change coolant as well. Got a new air filter for the bike and that requires pulling a bunch of plastic around the tank and the tank on the VStrom to access it. By the book the sir filter isn't due but the dusty environment of the desert it needs checked and vacuumed to remove any lose dust and debris.
Morning temps and night time temps are requiring me to switch from air mesh to textile jacket and pants as riding the distances/length of time I do you start getting impaired from the cold after 15-20 minutes.
I've ridden at least 3000-3500 miles since spring/first of the year.
Had to get a new set of windshield wiper blades on the car too...you are lucky to get a year on a set of blades here in the desert.
Cold front moving in overnight and we were at 81f this afternoon while tomorrow is expected to be at 59f for a high and Friday at 60f.a taste of fall...
Mountains of Northern Arizona will be getting snow tomorrow afternoon/ night Scotty in Humboldt will have snow as well as Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon...
David- back in the desert SW!

I used to frequent In-n-Out often when I lived in SoCal back in the 80's.  They were all over the place.  They finally came to Texas a few years back.  Looks like there are several locations in San Antonio and Austin.  The next time I have to go to the big city I may have to stop for one...even though I've already hit my burger quota for the year.

Good day to everyone on forum, please let me introduce myself - apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place

I'm Frank Vaski, Frank Motschko was (is) my Best friend - for 50 plus years.
We went by Honda Frank & Harley Frank as far as people keeping us figured - used to always be great fun that so many thought we were brothers, but had the same name.
Between the two of us, we also used EFF1 & EFF2, me being the latter as I deferred to him being just a hair under 6 months older than me.

Not anymore, as I'm a year older & counting, he's always going to be the younger. I digress - so if you see my user name it's paying homage to his , 754 (man he talked about
that for a week when he came up with it) and I added my personal moniker to it....

It's heartwarming to see how he's been remembered on here - I joined because it will be nice to read his writings, he spoke often of the joy he got sharing his love of CB750's
on here with others - and I'll share items as well, time moving on.

I helped Frank's widow with selling the trove of bike parts/items he amassed through his life - one of the hardest things I've done - and now, the time has come she wants to let
go of his last riding bike - 'Goldie' as we called it.

If I could be pointed to where I'd post - I'd appreciate it. We favored the historical counter makes - but we both loved motorcyling period.
Many thanks,
FRANK V. - EFF2

Hi Frank. We do have a classified section for selling, but you may need more posts first? Also, you may want to check out the memorial board. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,188245.0.html

"The infamous Double-Double from In-N-Out burger."
That burger look tasty. ;)

A US colleague working for our USA office  (Auburn Hills Michigan) asked me when I'll visit next time.

During our conversation he showed me a tasty looking burger menu from Detroit Burger Bar.

I found a menu online.....
They have a 2 pound version that seems to be a must try when really hungry. ;D

I don’t go very often but the Red Coat Tavern in Royal Oak often gets best in Detroit burger.
If you make it this far, Per, I will take you to the local favorite, Sandy’s by the Beech.

Welcome Frank, yes I remember when Frank arrived here and was so happy that he’d been the first to use the handle he went by. Now that you’re a member here don’t forget that you’re welcome to post any rides over 50 miles that you do here, regardless of what you ride, many of us own more than one brand of bike, and Harleys are welcome. If you have any problems posting a “For Sale” ad for Frank’s 750 let me know all the details (and pics would help) and I’ll post it for you. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Welcome to SOHC4 Frank eff2 and GLWS.

Wasn't "Goldie" the 750 that Frank rode to the reunion in Colorado, fitted with a 400F tank? I seem to recall he replaced the 400 tank with a gold 750 tank after that?

I seem to remember him assembling something rather quickly to ride to CO.  All I remember about that bike is him showing me the broken cooling fins on the cylinders and chuckling about it.

Bonus Ride 24   105 miles

I’m taking advantage of the unseasonable weather and getting back-to-back rides. The fog burned off at noon, it was mid 50’s when I departed, and the afternoon temp topped out near 70f - - - I’ll take it!
At Whitmore Lake marina, all of the boats were gone, even the docks were removed for the season. Further on near Gregory, there are several unusual longhorn cattle. They were all curious to see me stop by their field, but not so curious to get up and come closer for a proper photo.
The afternoon rides have a little different vibe as I’m encountering school busses and commuters on the way back. So I didn’t putz around, I beat it home on North Territorial and M14. I have been using the free REVER mapping app recently, and here is a screen shot of my ride mapped out. Time, speed, distance, altitude are saved in this free version, but not shared with the screen shot.

A useful shopper with good sized luggage room on wheel.

 ;D

The weather is unbelievable, it will be 25C tomorrow.  Nice for riding but the muzzleloader deer season starts tomorrow and I would much prefer temperatures around freezing.

It is bow season here, regular gun season Nov 15, muzzleloader Dec 2.
Fortunately, I have not seen any deer while motorcycling recently, but many in my backyard eating Mondays
jack o’lanterns. They have been dining regularly on the hostas.
I read an article earlier this week discussing a lack of interest in hunting by younger folks contributing to deer overpopulation. License sales down 48000.

We had doe only season in September and extended doe only season goes till the end of March.  Also Earn a Buck program.  The deer population explodes with the sprawl of suburban subdivisions in my county.

Well less than a month out from summer, finally the rain seems to have stopped, and the sun actually came out! (so much for Global Warming....) I made myself a delightful breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon on toast with baked beans and tomatoes. After a couple of hours I couldn't wait any longer to drive over to my storage garage and decide which bike to take today.

Considering my possible brush with the law last weekend I decided against the Triumph Rocket III, (it takes a much more concerted effort to do those sorts of speeds on a CB750 than it does on a Rocket III) plus, being a bit warmer than last weekend I didn't need to have a big windscreen or a leg warmer, so I pulled the K0 out and fired it up.

Instead of wearing my Nolan helmet I work the French Shark, and was immediately impressed with how quiet it is compared to the Nolan. Last time I wore it the strap was flapping around and the noise pissed me off, but I'd noticed that there's a little press stud on the end of the strap that pushes into a female piece behind the buckle, so I snapped it in and had no problems with it.

I took a different route from last weekend, the first part being the reverse of last Saturday's ride, something I haven't done in years and I was surprised at how much more I saw just coming from the opposite direction. I stopped in Kilmore for fuel, (and was once again was surprised to see that fuel in a country town was 30 cents cheaper per litre than in the city) then  rode on to Broadford, to the bakery. The lady there has taken a shine to me, and told me to sit down and brought me a slice of quiche with some salad, which was delicious, even though I probably didn't need a big (for me) lunch after my big breakfast.

As I was riding out of town I saw these old buildings, so stopped for a pic. It seems that wherever I go at the moment there's a lot of long grass around public buildings, but I guess that's a result of all the unseasonal rain that we've been getting lately. Also it's very green, usually by late spring it's starting to get very dry, but everything is green and lush (like what the wife calls me...) right now.

I took a different, quieter route home which was really pleasant, most of the cars were using the freeway because I guess they were in a hurry to get to wherever they were going, whereas I was in no particular hurry to go anywhere. The sun was shining, the birds were probably singing (the Shark helmet was really helping reduce wind noise, but not to the point where I could hear the birds singing, if indeed they were) and I was enjoying my day.

I rounded a bend and saw another brown snake slithering in the middle of the road. I rarely see two snakes on two rides, so I'm wondering if we're going to have a bumper crop of snakes this year? Anyway, I rode around him and kept going. I arrived back at the storage place around 3.30, and parked the bike. I know tomorrows going to be another nice day, and am thinking about ride #33, but I feel like I need to do some spannering, and my Honda CBR900RR needs some love, I started playing with it some months ago and kind of forgot about it until I got home today and walked past it where it's been slumbering under a cover since then. I think it's time I get it running and take it for a ride.

The Southern Classic historic race meeting is being run at Broadford this Saturday and Sunday. You should have ducked out for a look Uncle Tez.
