It really is a good carb.  May be a bit more than the turbo can handle.  But it did it's job.

Congrats!
Did you ever get the issues with the HSR40 not being able to open fully on the throttle figured out? My Turbo CB750A with an HSR42 has a very similar problem, I ended up going with a smaller turbo (TD025) and am planning on switching to a stock Harley CV carb (Keihin 40 I think). I love the idea of the intake running, and though about that as well for mine, but good to see you tried it and it didn't make much of a difference. My CB750 was draining the float bowl after about 10 minutes of spirited highway riding with the stock petcock, so I brazed a Harley 22mm bung/petcock with 5/16 line. No issues since. For now though I am stuck at about 75% throttle opening before it leans out and doesn't "want" anymore.

Yeah, my little turbo just seemed to like having a smaller D shaped venturi to suck on.  Could probably find a 30mm turbo to install and keep the hs40.  But the vz21/rhb31 did spool really quick.

Upping the boost to 8 psi for that last run gave the motor enough strength to Do the Ton against the wind.
I didn't realize during the engine assembly that the effective altitude at Bonneville was about 2000 feet higher than the actual.  Next season I'll definitely ramp up the boost.

I kinda forgot to get the cool guy sticker for the extra mile start line.

Bomber,

Is that rear suspension your design..?

Looks interesting…

Is it a double knee action..?  or are the two struts creating a different nodal point..?

Bomber,

I borrowed the concept from BMW.  The form and fabrication was all done in the speed shed.
Some of the CAD (cardboard aided design) photos should be on this thread already.  Was never in short supply for prime delivery boxes and empty welding rod tubes.
It worked brilliantly.  Even in the rough patch of track entering the return side of the mile.  A little adjustment to the preload after the first run kept the tail from squatting into the tire.

The idea of an offset monoshock lent itself well to the old can-am shock i already had.
Some people call it a cantilever suspension.  Wherein the eye of a shock and an adjustable drag link are fixed to the engine tube, and a 3 point pivot is held at the end of the swingarm.  After a few mock ups i had the geometry well in the ball park and began building
