Dual brake lines - No splitter/switch. Anyone have pics?
« on: January 02, 2022, 04:35:07 PM »
I have a 76 750F and I want to eliminate the splitter/switch and run two lines from calipers to the MC. (will use a double banjo bolt with the pressure switch built into the end.

Has anyone done this? I'd love some pics to show how / where you routed the lines.

Thanks.

No pics but I've seen a lot of bikes with that sort of setup. It looks kind of cluttered. Any reason you are ditching the splitter?

That’s easy to do, you just r.oute them the same way without the splitter, however what MC are you going to use? Since eliminating the splitter you also remove the switch. Unless you intend to use a modern MC with integrated switch from say Cbr600, or CBR 900 etc from 90’s onwards. Is this the info you need?.

Here are a couple.  Sorry about the blurriness and lack of detail.  You should be able to click on pic and zoom in.

I used a master cylinder from late 80s/ early 90's sportbike that has a microswitch on the brake lever

If it works good, it looks good...

Eldar I thought the splitter and three hoses looked more cluttered than just 2 hoses running full length. Thanks for the pics Mag1. Any issue with the braided SS rubbing against stuff. I hear it's very abrasive. I can get the custom lines made with a vinyl coating but I like the SS look better.

We've done it several times. The double banjo bolt with the built-in switch will work just fine.

Thanks Kelly. Got a supplier for that switch you could recommend?
