Ty’s Motorcycle Salvage - Colorado Magazine Online

Found on another forum. The poster there said, "Call him at 303-678-5683 (number from the photo) ONLY on Sunday between 12 noon and 3 pm Colorado time. Those are his hours and you'll get nowhere any other time."

Notice that article is 13 years old..LOL

Ty is now 51 and his salvage yard is considerably more weathered and rusted since then (some of the stuff there is beyond it's useful life BTW). It's located about 5 miles away from where I live in Longmont.

But having said that..I've got several items for my '77 550 from Ty that were very reasonably priced..especially at today's prices. And I think that if one was willing to pick through the stuff..you could possibly find what your looking for..but don't look for something that is 'bolt-on' ready..because most of it has been sitting out in the weather for over 20 years now.

I've found Ty to be an interesting and friendly..if not kind of eccentric person. He knows a little about most old Japanese bikes..but leaves the details and 'leg work' of finding what you want..up to you.the customers to find.dig-out.

I haven't visited Ty in about 5 years now..but the place looks pretty much the same from the road..when I've driven-by.  He's someone who most of us on the SOHC4 Forums would probably enjoy talking with..I believe.  I like to just drop by sometimes to chew the fat..see how he's doing (think he's still a bachelor living in his trailer at the yard ?)
