1976 550 K and 550 F frames
« on: January 16, 2022, 05:52:27 PM »
Hello group,
Can someone tell me whether the frames on the two 550 models available in 1976 were the same or not. The Super Sport original brochure talks about a stiffer frame that prevents flexing but was that only for the Super Sport or also for the K model. Also was there a different in experience riding a K and and F model besides the riding position. Were suspensions the same or different? I assume that the motors and gearing were the same.
Thank you

The most visible difference between f and k frames are their rear passsnger peg mounts.  The f model had different side covers so their mounting tabs are unique to that as well.

The suspension and engine mounts should be identical.

Its the fuel tank, seats, carburetors and exhaust pipes that are most different.
