Thanks! I wet sanded most of the scratches out. Some were too deep. I scuffed them with grey then white scotch-brite. Sprayed them with Eastwood 2K High Gloss Clear Coat. There’s some orange peel that I could probably wet sand out, but I think I’ll leave them alone.

Found this paint at Ace today and it’s a pretty good match for the inner sleeve of the gauge.

Got the swing arm bushings out of the freezer today and they went in easily. I had to cut a slot in the old ones to get them out.

Before you go any further, install the rear brake spindle (that connects the brake pedal to the operating rod). It sits AHEAD of the swing arm and it’s almost impossible to set the preload on the spring unless you slide the swing arm up, and then drop it back into place....... Try it NOW, and you’ll see what I mean!

Really like the way these gauges came out! Testors Red Fluorescent is a perfect match for the needle tips.

3/16” steel bent on a brake and holes drilled to match bike and engine adapter. Used all-thread to attach the motor to the bracket.

Sometimes a large air conditioning and mechanical shop will have one to build ducting and other stuff.

I used heavy angle iron and spacers when I did my CBX motor. Works just as well.

Steve..... another “angle iron” solution. I think these were bits of 4”. I do have a power hack saw! My cheapo stand only has a single caster on the font, and is a bit dodgy when rolling the motor on the spool. If you look for one, try and get one like “Dewy’s“ with the cross brace and double front casters. Looks far safer.

I saw a post a few years ago and copied their angle iron adapters that they cut out triangles for more access and lighter weight. I had to have help holding the stand while I hopped inside the van to lift and push the motor in the stand.

Here is one from someone in California that gets the motor away from the stand a few more inches which will be beneficial when painting the back area of the cases.
